Title: Helios connection
Post by: Prabir on February 10, 2018, 05:42:00 PM
Shots with the latest Helios 2/58 lens received from Mr. Soumya Mukherjee, a.k.a. CIMRIC of Bhubaneswar.
This was taken from Soumya based on a specific request from my son Riju. He was impressed with the copy I have.

Mounted it through M5 mount & M42 screw-EOS mount and took to Gariahat.
I've Taken just two shots and they were quite satisfying.

Lovely images, Prabir.

Glad you are having so much fun experimenting with Soviet era glass on your dSLRs.   Was the camera your Canon?  I can't discern exactly whatever the setup is from your description.

Happy Day.

Thanks Henry.

Though I have replaced my Canon gear with Nikon gear, I retained the mirrorless Canon EOS-M5. Its not a great camera. But its quite good and handy for moving around without being noticed much. I got a EF-M to EF/EF-S mount with this camera that enables use of all canon lenses in this body. You just mount the M42 converter on this mount and you are good to go. With this combination, one can focus to infinity.

I have an M42 to Nikon mount also. But that does not allow infinity focus for M42 lenses. I have ordered a mount with corrective glass from Amazon. Let's see how it works once I get it in hand.

Cheers!
