Converted a Laptop Backpack into cam backpack

It was really unusal to carry the cam with the mighty 150-600 around
so was feeling GAS for the cam backpack.

Suddenly came the idea. !  I already have a big enough Laptop Backpack
which just need some  modification to accomodate the RIG..

Got those partitions installed in 80INR at local cobler who also mends such bags.

I tell you bro that a bag is something which you should not compromise with. I have had situations where my bag with brimful of gear had fallen of the top bunk of 3 tier trains coaches, one time it rolled off a hill gradient and traveled a rocky/bumpy ride for a long distance. Once even it did fall in sea water and got submerged ( though for a few seconds only before I picked it up). In all such situations I understood the wisdom of spending some money on a good bag.

Please get a proper bag as at the end of the day it is only a small fraction of the value of the gear that it will hold.

Please don't take this personally YND. While I appreciate the attempt at jugaad, that bag looks awful and incapable of protecting camera gear with any level of confidence.

Seriously mate, you want to a risk an expensive "mighty" zoom lens by compromising on the very thing that is supposed to protect it? I don't think you should do that. Cameras and lenses are FAR more delicate and prone to damage than laptops. More often than not they're more expensive too.

Cut corners elsewhere but not with camera bags and support gear. Somnath has offered some very sane advice.

I am not one who will put my 1.5 Lac rig in a flimsy bag.
This one is really heavy duty bag.

I was expecting some caution/concerns here. Will surely
get better one this will buy some time. In surat I can not get
it over a counter.

Fair enough mate, it's your call If you don't get bags locally you could buy them online whenever you are ready.

YND hello,

You only are the best judge for your gears, i know you are carefull for your items but sometimes we all get dirverted and loose our attention and then a mishap is waiting to happen. As long as you are travelling within the city this bag is OK, but if you are on a journey in a train or flight get a bigger bag before that, please.

Oh Yes, this can be a stand by bag for the meantime till you pool in 10 to 20 K for a decent bag depending on your demand and requirement.

I have cheap gear - body Nikon D3200, 2 lenses worth 20k together..i use a heavy duty laptop bag.. from your post i got the idea of inserting partitions in it..thanks man
