While I was busy with my project 104. . There are these additional takeaways

Light was low and could not get the angle so that sun could light up the subject. . .

Nice capture, low light provides nice rim to the bird ! A little pp may help ! Was it shot at Lakhota lake ?

You can select the bird, give a little more exposure to open up the shadows, tweak contrast a bit and a little sharpening  should help. Hope it's shot in raw!
