Thanks Joy.

Guys please come forward with your critiques. In this regard I must say that this "CC" section is being grossly under-used by us. Let us participate here more, CC being the best and fastest way of self-improvement.

What I loved is the play of light on the distant hills. And what I didn't like is exactly the reason behind the title- The Void. The BG is gorgeous but the foreground is too bland. If there was a strong FG subject, I would have liked it better.

I also tend to agree with what PixelHunter said. Love the play of light/shades of the mountains. Loved the drama in the sky too and would probably want to see more of the sky than the not so interesting ground below. IMHO the composition would've been better if you've pointed the camera slightly higher angle to get more sky and less of the ground (basically cut off 2/3rd of the plain ground in front).

I think shot from lower down with an interesting rock, weathered wood branch or even tire tracks with more angular light would really lift this shot...

Thanks guys. In fact I had consciously avoided the placement of something interesting in the foreground. The idea was to convey the thought that you have to trudge upon something mundane to reach something interesting. Thanks for your views :-)

Somnath, just a tiny bit of cropping of the lower part of the image (~30%) to reduce the "mundane" foreground and emphasize the visually powerful mountains and the sky. Your thoughts?

The shot is very good as it is.
But if you want to go a level above, just keep the half of the bottom part of the frame, or FG if you care to call it so. since the FG has nothing much to offer.
That's my thought.

Thanks dada. You are right as are the others. Will do the crop and will get it printed.
