I am also more of purist type (when doing nature) I do not like too much of deviation in white balance.
Both images are over saturated for me. On composition front there can be improvement
if you are placing your subject towards right in both these image.

Best accessory of camera is 3" behind it,
And mine needs an upgrade. . . ;)

Interesting photo subjects.

By way of improvement, I think I would like the saturation turned down a bit too.  The printed matter is distracting to me, needs to be suppressed or removed, IMO.   On my monitor the red flower is blown out, lacking detail information in the sea of red.

Thanks for sharing.

Happy Day.   :)

Some say that those of us who like to talk about cameras should instead go and take pictures. I say we should go and also take pictures.

I don't know what should be said, Basically, do these images show what you wanted them to be.?
As a critic, yes it is Over Saturated, white balance is deviated to an extent wherein it has changed the color tone/temperature completely.
In the end, if this was the desired result and works for you then... OK

I absolutely agree!  It's the message that counts.  And breaking the generally accepted "rules" is fair game to get there.

Happy Day.    :)

Interesting. The shot seems brighter than what it should be.
