Here are some basic tips for wedding photography.
keep backups of everything from lenses and camera bodies to cards, batteries.
Know your camera very well
Know the venue

Some Tips for Wedding Photography from camyogi.in:

1. Reach the Event beforehand.

2. Carry extra equipment whenever possible, because you don't know when one would give up on you.

3. Double-check your equipment before heading out.

4. Clean your lenses and carry a sturdy camera bag.

Connect all things that need to be connected to one another.  Verify that they all work together.  Keep them together until the shoot is over.

Create a list of everything needed during a shoot.  That includes reminders of the shots to be taken.  You would not want to forget some important shot.
